Renommierte Berliner Galerie mit internationaler Bedeutung, deren Programm ästhetisch von Objektkunst bis zu figurativer und abstrakter Malerei reicht.
Auf dem internationalen Kunstmarkt gehört die Galerie Contemporary Fine Arts zu den mittelgroßen, in Berlin ist sie unbestreitbar eine der ganz großen. Das Galerieprogram, dass eine enorme ästhetische Spannweite aufweist umfasst, vom Sofa-Objekt des dänischen Wilden Tal R über figurative Malerei von Chris Ofili oder Gert und Uwe Tobias bis zu abstrakter Malerei von Katja Strunz und Anselm Reyle.
Geschichte
CONTEMPORARY FINE ARTS has been in existence since 1992 and is managed by Bruno Brunnet, Nicole Hackert and Philipp Haverkampf. Formerly located in Berlin-Charlottenburg, the gallery was then situated from 1996 in Sophie-Gips-Höfe, Berlin-Mitte. In November 2007, after ten years of successful gallery work, Contemporary Fine Arts relocated to the new Chipperfield-building directly across from Museum Island in Berlin-Mitte. The gallery’s program concentrates on international contemporary art in a broad spectrum of media. Painting is prominently represented by the painters GEORG BASELITZ (D), CECILY BROWN (USA), PETER DOIG (GB), MARCEL EICHNER (D), ROBERT LUCANDER (D/FIN), CHRIS OFILI (GB), TAL R (DK), DANIEL RICHTER (D), DANA SCHUTZ (USA) and NORBERT SCHWONTKOWSKI (D). The oeuvre of MARC BRANDENBURG (D) and RAYMOND PETTIBON (USA) is almost exclusively restricted to drawings. MAX FRISINGER’s (D), THOMAS KIESEWETTER’s (D), KATJA STRUNZ’s (D) main field is sculpture.
